Excellent Door Opener
This garage door opener is excellent. It is extremely quiet and well made. I have a 7 foot standard size and weight garage door. My daughter has a heavier larger door and they have this garage opener and it has worked great for them for years. That is why I got mine when my old opener finally broke. If there is a negative the action of the door going up and down is just a little slower than other openers but so what? It works great and is quiet and sturdy! It has a good light too and 2 slim openers.
I think this product is great and well priced.

Best door opener on the market!
I researched garage door openers and I came upon this unit made in Germany by Sommer. I was replacing a screw drive unit and I did not want a chain drive. All the reviews I read are accurate and right on. This is the best garage door opener on the market. The cost is a little more, but you really get what you pay for. If you are looking for a great door opener and want a quiet one, this is the opener for you.

Quiet Garage Door Opener
I bought this opener because I have low clearance in my garage and I was anxious to get my Tundra in my garage. The old opener was just wide enough that the truck slide in under it and there was contact between the opener and the truck. The last thing I wanted was scrape the top of truck. With the new opener I have at least 2 inches of clearance. My garage in built into the house and is below two bed rooms. When the kids would come to visit and they would complain that the old chain driven door when opened early in the morning would shake the whole room. I wanted to tell them to go to the Holiday Inn down the street but was told in no uncertain terms that was unacceptable. This garage door opener is a most excellent compromise. Now I can sneak in and out of the house through the garage and no one knows.

The best opener I've ever had
I really like this garage door opener. It is smartly designed, and easy to install. Over the years I have installed many openers, and this was by far the easiest to put up. I like that the chain is tensioned, and then the motor moves as it raises and lowers the door. In this way, there is no chain slack, so the door moves without any jerkiness that is common with other openers. And it is very quiet too, it can hardly be heard over the sound of the door itself. I am very happy to have found this product.

At the risk of sounding like I work for Sommer (which I don't), this garage door opener is one of the best products I have ever purchased. The product's engineering, manufacturing quality, and ease of installation all rate as exceptional. It worked great right from the start. It is very smooth in operation (we have a sectional door) and is extremely quiet too. I mean... extremely quiet!! I smile every time I push the button!

Innovative Design. Top notch engineering.
Let me start by noting something most people don't think about. If my unit ever requires warranty repair do I have to ship it back to Germany. Answer: no you do not. Their service center is located here in the US. It never ceases to amaze me how many solutions there are to the same problem. This is masterpiece of German engineering. It's super quiet. The only part that makes any noise at all is the garage door itself. The unit is virtually inaudible. Fit and finish is perfect. Instructions are straight forward and setup is a breeze. The only moving part is the shuttle which gets its power directly off of the rail. I would definately recommend this unit to anyone looking for a garage door opener.

Exceptional Engineering
This garage door opener is unbelievable and beyond expectations, slim compact design, extremely quite, smooth operation, and ease of Installation. This opener replaced my belt drive opener that I thought was quite however you will be amazed with the difference.
